'The Schools and School House, Badsey'

Today this is Badsey First School in School Lane. The outside of the buildings have changed remarkably little. There is now a noticeboard, a safety barrier, a speed limit sign, and yellow lines on the road. Two stone columns at the entrance have gone and the School House has lost its creeper. Today the school takes children aged between 4 and 10 from Badsey and surrounding villages. Its Summer Fete and Christmas Fair are an important part of village life. Here is more about the history of the school and information about the school today.

Track Changes uses pairs of photographs to show how Badsey has altered over a period of about 75 years. The old pictures are from postcards sold at Badsey Post Office in the 1920s and reproduced with the kind permission of Pat Goldstraw. The new photographs were taken in 2001.
